MSNRLE2PNG Program Update

Posted on Sunday 14 October 2007

I have only now realized that I never updated the MSNRLE2PNG program to account for the organizational changes made in Windows Live Messenger 8.5.  I have made the appropriate changes and you can download the newest version from the Tools page.

Posted on Monday 13 November 2006

This version includes Skin Reloading for the Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Public Beta. From here on out the skin reloading should be more reliable. I would also like to mention that the latest version of Messenger Plus Live is now working nicely with the skin reloading.
You can download MemSkin+ 1.1.019 from the downloads page.

MemSkin+ 1.1 Beta Public

Posted on Saturday 14 October 2006

I was going to wait for the next release of Messenger Plus! Live before releasing this, however I’ve changed my mind. Here it is, the MemSkin+ 1.1 Beta. This version includes the ability to reload skins without exiting messenger, as well as the ability to load reload the skin from the contact list MemSkin+ icon. The hooking engines have been completely rewritten for compatibility and versatility. This version is more compatible with Messenger Plus! Live, however full compatibility cannot be achieved until the current MsgPlus beta is released. Post any problems or questions on the forum. Download the beta on the Download page.

Memskin+ FAQ’s

Posted on Thursday 17 August 2006

Here is a section dedicated to the most frequently asked questions about Memskin+. If you have a question that hasn’t been answered here, ask away at the Memskin+ Forum.

What is MemSkin+?
What versions of Messenger is MemSkin+ compatible with?
Does MemSkin+ modify Messenger in a permanent way?
Why doesn’t MemSkin+ work with Messenger Plus! Live?
Do you plan to make MemSkin+ compatible with Messenger Plus!?

What is MemSkin+?
MemSkin+ is software that allows you to change the look of MSN Messenger and Windows Live Messenger without modifying the program on disk.

What versions of Messenger is MemSkin+ compatible with?
MemSkin+ has been tested with MSN Messenger 7.x and Windows Live Messenger 8.x. While previous versions have not been tested, MemSkin+ will probably still work. While MemSkin+ is compatible with all current versions of messenger, the skins are not. Please make sure you have a current skin :).

Does MemSkin+ modify Messenger in a permanent way?
No. MemSkin+ only uses memory modification to deliver your skin.

Why doesn’t MemSkin+ work with Messenger Plus! Live?
The current version of MemSkin+ is NOT compatible with Messenger Plus! Live. This is caused by conflicts in the way that the two softwares work. At this time, Debug builds of MemSkin+ are mostly compatible with MsgPlus.

Do you plan to make MemSkin+ compatible with Messenger Plus!?
Yes. I am currently working on a version of MemSkin+ that is mostly compatible with Messenger Plus. However there are still some issues that need to be worked out before I can release the new version to the general public.
